Jack graduated in 1972. While at Teays Valley, he earned four letters in football, two in basketball and four in track and field. He earned All-League honors in football and track and field during his junior and senior years. Jack was named All-District in football his senior year and in track and field during his junior and senior years. In 1972 Jack earned All-Ohio honors in track and field in the shot put. Jack attended the University of South Carolina from 1972-1976 on a football scholarship.
