Laurie is a graduate of the Class of 1998. During her career, she earned one varsity letter in cross country, one in volleyball, three in basketball, and three in track. As a member of the basketball team, Laurie was 1st team All-League twice, All-District recognition twice, and received Special Mention and Honorable Mention All-Ohio. In her senior year, she received the Herald Award as Pickaway County’s Player of the Year and she played in the Ohio-Kentucky All Star game where she was named the game’s MVP.

In track, Laurie was the District Champion, 2nd in the Regional and 8th in State in the 1600 Meter run during her sophomore year. In her junior year she finished 6th in the Regional in the 1600 Meter. During her senior year, she qualified for the Regional meet in the 800 Meter run, 3200 Meter run and the High Jump. She went on to finish 7th in the 800 at the State meet. She received Academic All-Ohio honors twice.

After graduation, Laurie attended Capital University and earned letters in basketball and track. She was the team captain during her senior year of basketball and received Academic All-Conference Honors.
