Andrew is a 2008 graduate. During his time at Teays Valley, he was a three year letter winner for baseball and football. In baseball, he was first team all central district in 2007 and 2008, second team in 2006, first team MSL in 2007 and 2008, the 2008 MSL baseball player of the year and 2006 MSL honorable mention. He was the 2008 offensive and defensive player of the year, first team all county in 2006-2008 and 2008 Donn Rowland Athlete of the Year. The team won MSL titles in 2006,2007 and 2008, In football he was second team all central, first team MSL in 2007, MSL second team in 2006 and first team all county 2006-2007. The team won the 2005 MSL title.

After high school he went to Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a two year varsity letterman in both baseball and football.
