Kelly was a member of the class of 1989. During his high school career, he earned 4 varsity letters in wrestling and football. His accomplishments include: the 1987 all-county football team and league champs, 2x outstanding wrestler his junior and senior years, 2x state qualifier in wrestling, 2x wrestling MSL champion, 2x sectional champion for wrestling, and 2x All-State Winner.
